5 skills to help you develop Emotional Intelligence

Poor relationships with others lead to violence which turns around to get your soul drowned. This fear can lead to violence and can shatter everyone’s heart near you sometimes, including you. If this behavior remains confined, then it can ultimately lead to cowardice and you may finally land in a world where no one feels to be yours. Henceforth, life can appear breaking and destroyed.  To keep your emotional flame away from burning into ashes, you would need to increase your emotional intelligence, the EQ.

What is EQ

It is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflicts.

Skills to help you develop EQ

  • Respond instead of reacting to conflicts – Whenever you land in some emotional outbursts, the foremost requisite is to respond to the issues without losing concentration and your real identity. Remember, if you make an impulsive decision, it can make you fall to even greater issues.
  • Utilize active listening skill – The key to perfection and staying satisfied in life is to stop mocking away your life skills. If you race towards others and try to solve your problem within seconds, it is the worst option. Try to be a good listener and show respect to others. This includes some other effects too – lowering stress and tension levels, boosting confidence, briefing the conversations, and helping you achieve trust of others.
  • Know how to empathize with others – Every emotionally intelligent person knows how to empathize with others. This leads to a strong relationship building which keeps you away from landing into situations with troubles. Research has shown that by empathizing with others, the close bonds we form help us develop healthy coping mechanisms towards stress.
  • Be sociable and extrovert – Try having great impersonal skills and learn how to communicate clearly, both verbally and non – verbally. Don’t be overwhelmed by checking those who talk more and try keeping conversations short. Being engaged in life and having a sense of enthusiasm reduces the risk of coronary heart disease.
  • Think positive always – Start your day on a positive note. You can try talking with people who always think positively, practice positive self talk and identify your areas of negativities.  This can make problems seem manageable and help you to approach everything in a more positive way.

All in all, don’t miss the cloud behind the silver lining. When you’re trying to achieve your dreams and feel like falling behind steeply, remember that you’re missing something. Try developing your emotional intelligence. You can always consider the above ways and stop worsening your orientation further.
